In October 1986, trading as A & M Care-Clean Services, the husband and wife team of Mr & Mrs McKane started a window cleaning round. As a result of their hard work and shear dedication, within only a short period of time, the business rapidly grew diversifying into a number of areas such as contract cleaning, garden maintenance and property management.

Dealing with selected clientele including Bellway Homes and Watford Football Club, the business developed an impeccable reputation for first class workmanship and service. Since beginning trading the company has won many awards and has been recognised in the Annual Housing Site Management Awards, which is officiated by the National House-Building Council.
Vinney Jones
In July 1995 Hollywood superstar and former Wales international footballer Vinnie Jones opened the company's first wholesale and retail cleaning supplies shop in North Watford. However, it was soon realised that a larger site was needed and a further shop was opened in April 1996, doubling its former size whilst also allowing to provide a machine hire facility. A & M were extremely pleased to hear that Vinnie would once again accept the honour of opening the new shop which produced interesting media coverage.

Television presenter and comedian Bradley Walsh found the time in early 1997 to advertise the company in local media, having known the proprietors for many years. It proved to be another successful occasion in the history of the organisation.

Following such publicity and much hard work, A & M Cleaning Supplies has grown to become one of the leading distributors for Prochem and Selden Research amongst others. They distribute goods for all of the leading cleaning product manufacturers and the proprietor has been part of the Prochem training team.
